So awful. I am aware through a friend I met at the All American Council of the OCA in Baltimore (2022) that there are indeed tentacles of the intel agencies trying to access and influence us. Fortunately, at least at our local parish, the faith is kept intact, but I don’t want to be in something akin to a conservative Episcopal congregation in a larger woke institution.

This is so disturbing in light of the stress my conversion (currently a catechumen at a based Chicago Antiochian parish) has placed on my marriage, my friendships, etc. If ecumenism were true I wouldn’t have changed a thing and been all the better for it. I am grateful to have been led to the true Catholic Church and for God’s use of Jay in that process. I just pray it doesn’t wind up being for nought due to the powers of liberalism and geopolitical influence.

Maybe the centuries long squabbling among Orthodox jurisdictions holds a silver lining. Intended or not, it's a bulwark against ecclesiastical totalism, the religious obedience of Globalism.

Stephen, that has crossed my mind a few times. Appreciate you mentioning that!

Pope Francis famously said that "it is the duty of all Catholics to obey the United Nations, and all international institutions". His referents for the latter may be parsed, but in the end it matters little. The man stiffened his magisterial order with his actions, (figuratively) jumping from bed to bed: Lady Rothschild's, Jeffrey Sachs, the Ford Foundation (which funded his Pachamama Synod). One can't help but think that the Vatican may be a discount furniture store cram full of soiled divans and lounges. Heck, just the other week Pope Francis (with his famous enthusiastic *closeness*) entertained Bill Clinton and Alex Soros, son of George.

Why would any Orthodox seek to tag along? Especially as the song goes, "they - Francis' ideological pals - smell like sulfur".

Jay, I am a recent convert to Holy Orthodoxy ( from Roman Catholicism) and I am just now getting familiar with your work. A priest I know recommended it!

Watching what is taking place with GOARCH is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. It is hard for me to believe that there will not be a mass exodus from GOARCH if this “Union” occurs in 2025. I would also like to believe that there are far too many Orthodox minded clergy and laity in both the OCA and Antiochian Archdiocese to cave-in to this Ecumenism.

Or am I naïve?
